Chalobah Expected to Step in for Marc Guehi in England National Team

The Chelsea star followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the 21st pair of brothers to play for the national team.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to be added to the England squad to fill in for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The 26-year-old is due to link up with the national side for England's final World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has yet to be made public.

The England team have already qualified for the upcoming tournament.

Chalobah was given his first call-up under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in the month of May and then made his debut against Senegal.

In the month of September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unlucky to be left out from the selection for qualifiers against Serbia and Andorra, and additionally did not select him for the following October fixtures.

Tuchel has been an significant presence in Chalobah's career, having handed him his Chelsea first appearance in the year 2021.

Chalobah has appeared in nearly all games for Chelsea in the current campaign, with the side in third place in the Premier League, in the EFL Cup quarter-finals and in the group stage of the Champions League.

Guehi picked up a foot problem in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League victory over the Dutch side recently.

There are likely to be further inclusions to the squad. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) will be unavailable from the national team.
