Clair Obscur Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Ultimate Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, the talented actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team won seven awards throughout the event.
Other major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. It is important to note, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the public, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamer Selection—decided by critics.
